#498 AI-Powered Inspirations

This week we began implementing our designs for a redesigned Team Health system within Parabol starting with a new, AI-powered Inspirations feature.

Elements of our designs for our revised Team Health feature surpassed a level of confidence where we could begin implementation. Below is a sneak peak of our design for team health report.

During a design review one of Parabol’s team members noted that while running a Team Health activity is valuable for teams, its benefits could be magnified if the insights surfaced by team members could be remembered and resurfaced during a retrospective. For ages, we’ve had designs for a feature we called “Inspirations,” a sidebar that surfaces information from Parabol and integrated systems to help suggest content for the current activity. Inspirations shipped as a feature within our Stand Up meeting format as a way to allow users to review recent work from integrations.

This week we revised this feature to add an AI-based feature allowing users to summarize their recent work. It is now officially called “Inspirations.” This new, AI-improved Inspirations panel shipped this week and is now available for all integrations in Parabol’s Stand-Up meetings. Soon, the panel will come to Parabol’s retrospective meetings, too.

In the near future, the Parabol tab within Inspirations will get its own updates and surface more than just assigned tasks in Parabol. Specifically, we’ll show recent insights from activities like Team Health to help people find good moments (such as during retrospectives) to process what they are sensing into positive change.

Our signup rate remained strong while usage continued to fall this week. This isn’t atypical before a major holiday weekend and during the summer, but we’re keeping an eye on the overall trend.

…further automated our support inbox. As time has gone on, more and more spam shows up in our support inbox. We now have an AI-assisted mechanism for sweeping it out.

…developed and published new content for our revised Team Health feature. Our new Team Health system will roll up the data it collects on the five categories from Google’s Project Aristotle. However, we don’t want organizations to limit themselves to only questions from the Project Aristotle. In addition to bringing their own questions, we are planning to include a number of “Question Packs” from other models, too. We created content pages for each of the models we’re planning to include:
