#504 Snazzy New Usage Reports
Friday Ship #504 | August 14th, 2026
In my work bringing in new customers as well as managing existing ones, I spend a lot of time talking to people about their Parabol usage. It’s been interesting to see how the admins and org leaders I speak with all have slightly different desires when it comes to learning about how their teams use Parabol. Some are laser focused on active users in the last 30 days, others on total registered users in past year. Then I might have an entire call about task completion, and the next one will be about making sure their teams are using the full breadth of our meeting types. Some Parabol owners care deeply about qualitative issues, such as what problems are common across all their teams.
For years I’ve been sending out a somewhat generic usage report that covers some but not all of the things leadership cares about. I then filled in the gaps manually, piecing together my responses with screenshots from various internal dashboards.
This past week our head of product revamped the enterprise usage report process and made it so much better. The new reports cover product usage from all angles and include a bespoke narrative to help contextualize the numbers. It also is created in seconds by Claude, where as before I might have to wait hours for an engineer to have the time to make me a report. (I love you guys and I know you’re busy, but I do appreciate that Claude doesn’t sleep or take breaks)
To illustrate, I’ll include some examples from a real Parabol customer but with their data anonymized and all names made up.

Now I have a report that hits on everything a given leader would want to see, such as meeting cadences…

Usage based on time frame…

What kind of problems their teams are solving, and where they are getting stuck…

Task creation…

And even fun badges for their most active users. (Reminder, all names are fictitious!)

There is much more in a full report. I am really excited about this and I have already sent a report to many different prospects and customers. If you want to see one for your company, holler at us!

The annual summer slump keeps summer slumpin’, though the tiny uptick in registered users is nice to see.
