#465 – Decoupling Strategy from the Calendar

Friday Ship #465 | October 24th, 2025

This week we kicked off governance for our T3 strategy. We try to make the strategy short, clear, and fit on a single page. We’ve been doing it this way since 2017. If you’re curious about how we set and adopt strategy, we’ve written it up before. We’ve also shared our consent-based strategy flow and how we’ve evolved it over time.

Why we offset our “strategic trimesters”

We intentionally decouple and offset our strategic trimesters from holidays and fiscal quarter boundaries to smooth over transitions and seasonal rhythms. That keeps planning and adoption quieter, less interrupted, and easier to execute.

We also run strategy on a roughly four-month cadence. A rhythm we’ve refined over many iterations.

Where we’re pointing T3

Looking ahead, we’re focusing on market opportunities in the private and regulated sectors and on expanding our software’s capabilities. From Agile teams to new functions, looking at who can benefit from structured async collaborative worksflows. That’s the through-line for the work we’ll be shaping and governing next.

We’re excited to see where this takes us in 2026 and beyond!

Metrics

Metrics were low across the board this week and something to watch given we have a few more weeks before the holiday season slow down.

This week we…

…started talking to candidates for our open Head of Revenue role.

…continued work to get Pages staged for production at P1.

Next week we’ll

host a demo day for our mid-cycle check-in on Cycle 11.

…wrap up governance for our T3 Strategy.
