#456 – Our First Innovation Advisory Brainstorm

Friday Ship #456 | August 22nd, 2025

This week we tried something new. We pulled together a crew of top execs from across industries and said: “Okay, if Parabol could magically solve your biggest headaches… what would they be?”

But instead of a stuffy roundtable, we ran (of course) a Parabol retro. Because hey, we practice what we preach.

đź’ˇ What Floated to the Top

After a lively brainstorm, three use cases rose to the top:

  • Sales – Collaborative lead development & prioritization
  • Sales – Automating pipeline review meetings
  • Talent – Collaborative candidate evaluation & hiring decisions

Not bad for a first brainstorm!

🛠️ What’s Next

We’re not shelving these ideas in a dusty doc. We’re turning each into a prototype during a workshop with our full team next week. Our advisory board will give feedback, and if any prototype seems useful enough, they’ll help bring it to stakeholders in their personal network.

This was just round one. We are excited to be getting fresh eyes on where Parabol can stretch beyond product and engineering teams.

Stay tuned!

Metrics

Small bump in web sessions and weekly meetings, but overall still a quiet August as we wrap up the end of Summer.

This week we…

…kicked off Cycle 10.

…welcomed Drew back from paternity leave. Sounds like the dogs have adjusted nicely to their new housemate. 🥰

Next week we’ll

…celebrate Parabol’s 10th anniversary. It’s hard to believe, but Parabol will turn 10-years old next week!
