This week we were notified from AFWERX that Parabol was selected for another government award to enhance Parabol’s capabilities for the public sector.

One of the many great things about Parabol is that we’re free for anyone to try out and use. Because of this, about five years ago we saw a huge spike in government sign ups, so we looked into it. Come to find out, thousands of users within the Department of Defense (DoD) were leveraging Parabol to support their various mission needs.

After learning how Parabol was supporting these DoD users, we quickly focused our efforts towards meeting the government’s security requirements necessary for Parabol to be used for classified work so that we could become a more effective tool to our users. This led us to an outfit within the DoD called Platform One (P1). P1 is a modern cloud-era platform that provides valuable tooling, hosts CI/CD DevSecOps pipelines, and offers a secure Kubernetes platform for hosting microservices to their internal DoD customers. They are essentially one of the few gateways for commercial technology platforms to pass through to meet government security standards so that DoD end users can take advantage of today’s tech in classified environments.

Fast forward to today and Parabol has now built a great relationship with P1 to ensure Parabol’s security meets DoD standards at Impact Level 2 (IL2) & Impact Level 4 (IL4) to enable soldiers access to Parabol in classified settings. With these security certificates in place, Parabol is now supporting mission critical needs like pre and post launch operations within the U.S. Space Force, flight debriefs amongst pilots and flight chiefs in the U.S. Air Force, Agile software development amongst DevSecOps professionals within the U.S. Army, digital transformation efforts in the Navy, and so much more.

Work within the public sector takes time, but the patience has paid off for Parabol now with multiple government contracts, millions of dollars in awards, and our platform being leveraged in new ways that we could only dream about when we first launched. Our government partners are helping us make Parabol a better tool in many ways that positively affect both our private sector and public sector users.

Metrics

Metrics were pretty flat this week with the exception of our MAU dipping. With new features and updates coming to Parabol, we are confident these numbers will grow.

This week we…

… Kicked off our first six-week Shape Up cycle.

… Submitted a SBIR Phase I proposal & STTR Phase I proposal.

… Learned that we we received another government award from AFWERX.

Next week we’ll

…start planning to visit DoD Platform One in San Antonio for our TACFI “kick-off meeting”
